Diamond Cut Wheels

What if my wheels diamond cut?

Alloy logic was the first company in East Anglia to have a state-of-the-art lathe capable of diamond cutting the wheels without removing the tyres, meaning we can offer diamond cutting as a mobile service. The process is like that of painted wheels, once the alloys are painted, we then put them into our lathe where a very precise layer is shaved away leaving a diamond cut finish. We then finish using a specially developed lacquer to protect the wheel.

Another option for minor damage to a diamond cut wheel is to Smart repair the wheel, you may not need to have a full re-cut. Using sanding methods, we can repair diamond cut alloys without re-cutting the entire wheel. Once the damage is removed, we work up the grades and polish the metal to give the same effect as a diamond cut finish. We then blend some chrome paint through the repaired area and coat with a lacquer to protect the wheel.

This process is perfect for leased vehicles due for return. We carry out these repairs every day and is a cheaper alternative to having the full re-cut service.

Diamond cut wheels can also be completely painted one colour if preferred which can often save money.

A common problem with diamond cut wheels is corrosion, also known as white worming. This is water under the lacquer that corrodes the alloy and appears white/ yellow. It will start from a chip or break in the lacquer often around kerb damage or around the centre cap. Once the water gets under the lacquer it will slowing spread if not repaired and resealed.
